Believe to be a 1902 smoothly running singer sewing machine, all original pieces are intact. Little deterioration on lid wood.

It looks like a very nice vintage Singer, but I doubt that it dates to 1902.
It's a bit difficult to tell, because of the distance and resolution of your first picture, but I suspect that what you might have is some flavor of a model 201 or later model. You seem to have a zig zag attachment, which wasn't available until the model 206:

We could identify your machine better if you either supply the serial number or add a close-up picture of it. It's located in a little elliptical cartouche on the machine bed in front of the upright arm/pillar of the machine head, e.g.:

I was looking for information as to whether the Singer model 201 is capable of zig zag stitching, and found this:

A zig zag machine forms the stitch by moving the needle left and right, while the fabric takes a straight-line path under the presser foot. Since tha 201 does not have the capability to move the needle, the zig zagger oscillates the fabric left and right while the needle stays stationary. Because of this, performance of the zig zagger is VERY dependent on the fabric you are sewing. Some fabrics will work just fine and others will not.

OK, I feel pretty confident now that your machine is a Singer model 201, specifically a 201-3:

Probably the only remaining question is the age, which can be determined through the serial number.
