Ran across this and picked it up. It says bell system on the handset. It also says western electric. Not sure of year.

Definitely 1930s. This one is strange because most of them have a handle on the front that you would crank and then it rings a bell somewhere else. Like for use in a hotel.
I believe what you have is referred to as a party line phone.

Ralph is it Wi-Fi capable
Thanks dav2no1 for the information. It is extremely heavy and my wife remembers her grandmother having a party line phone and she said she would slip the phone up and listen to the gossip in the valley:). Thanks EVERYONE that stopped by and looked and loved! Appreciate yall!
Hey Ed....I bet that there is someone who could get it that way or they would die trying. I bet some folks would not even know what this item is:)
Your model 302 was produced my Western Electric from 1937 to 1955. Yours being a metal case made of zinc alloy was produced before World War 2. After the war the 302's were made of thermoplastic.
Cokeman, if you undo the three machine screws on its underside (which should be made to be 'captive' in the base even when undone) and open it up, I'd bet you'll find date stamps inside it. COOL old phone anyways about it!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Hey ttom and anything...i just updated the post with the inards. Looks like 11/39. Yall are so dang smart:)
I'd agree -- that's exactly the kind of date stamp that I would have expected to find in there. ttomtucker is likely much more knowledgeable about such things with his extensive collection of antique telephony -- me, not so much 'smart' but I've always loved old phones anyway... ;-) :-) :-) <lol>
BB2 was here.
Coleman I'm glad we can help
bb2,ttom,Thomas.....APPRECIATE YOU ALL! Thanks for the looking and loving and the comments! I will accept the charges Thomas:)
