I purchased this mantel clock from the local buy swap sell for $50. I think it's so beautiful. I have no idea it's age but it has Urgos on the inside workings. My partner managed to get the key to wind in both holes. The pendulum does stop so I think I have my work cut out trying to balance it perhaps. If anyone knows anything about this clock would appreciate any feedback thank you.

      Hello,
First, you should be using clock oil and not 3 in 1, but okay. Clocks use very little oil. Here's a video on how to oil a clock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaiLSVOxMkc

Second, a pendulum regulated clock like yours needs to be put into "beat".
      Here's a good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN2ssq05HGA

      Thanks for sharing your Urgos.

oh dear thank you Bruce. Hopefully no damage done with the oil. I will say he did use the most minute amount. Thank you for the link to the video. My partner does think some one has taken mechanism out before as he sees some different screws and believe the mechanism itself a bit off centre. Do you think we should straighten the mechanism or leave as is and try put in beat just by adjusting the crutch. Apologise if my terminology a bit wrong, clearly a novice.

I can't make any recommendations based on the photos. You might try putting the clock in beat by placing thin shims (coins, business cards, etc.) under one side or the other as needed.
