Today's rather nice op shop find was this Czech Tango glass vase in an intense shade of orange.
It measures 20 cm tall, 10.7 cm across the top rim, & 7.5 cm across the base.
It displays a classic form for this type of vase, the flared out "trumpet" with a loosely crimped top rim edged with a black crest.
The truncated conical footed base is a bit different, though. The other examples I have of this shape have a rounded foot that is like a squashed doughnut rather than this straight - sided example.
No markings (typical of Tango glass found in Australia) but plenty of age related "shelf wear" on the base.
    1920s - 1930s era, made in Czechoslovakia.

Thanks so much, shareurpassion! Yes, Tango glass is super & I'm always thrilled to find some, it's much harder to come by these days so I always jump on it when it turns up...& for sure it's right on trend for Halloween as well!

I've seen this one in the U.K. I think it's most likely Welz. The shape has, most commonly, a 'disc' foot, also a 'bulb' foot and less often this truncated 'cone' foot. Nice find.

Many thanks Peggy, & so nice to hear from you!
Was hoping this one might be a Welz. All my other vases of this basic shape have the bulb foot, which made this one a must - have for being a bit different. The same shop also had a Tango comport/fruit bowl in a slightly lighter orange with black trim...but I left it for another lucky buyer to score as it was -
      1. Too expensive,
      2. Takes up more shelf space than I can spare... :-)

No question... Welz tango, I have a few that shape. The color palate is different than most Welz tango!!!

      That should be palette!!!

Many thanks for the vote of confidence in Welz, cornhusker!
I'm always impressed by the variety of their production. I have a number of orange vases in the Tango style, but this orange is slightly different from all of them.
