Just found this in garbage and felt it had some history behind it and was most definitely correct. Just rusty or grimy and unaware of the way to clean.

Washing by hand in warm soapy water is pretty benign. I use dish washing soap for things like this. That is now my uncle taught me to clean old coins almost 60 years ago...
