A recent find on eBay AU, this Art Nouveau vase was sold as Loetz Mimosa. Being a reasonably priced buy it now from a local seller, I took the chance. Even if it wasn't Loetz, I thought it was a good buy, regardless.
A squat vase, it measures around 7.7 cm tall, 13 cm across the loosely crimped top rim, & 8.5 cm across the base, which has a neatly polished out pontil mark. Condition is perfect.
It is a light golden colour, with an allover, raised crackle decor that is intensely iridescent.
I've looked at various sites for images of similar items conclusively attributed as Loetz Mimosa, & I feel reasonably confident this piece is one of their products.
I have one similar ... great catch !!!!
Very nice. Mimosa is a decor I have difficulty with because there seem to be lots of lookalikes. That said, it certainly looks to me like Candia Mimosa. And it looks to be the same shape as the blue example here: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/39511-colors---and-mimosa?in=441-activity
Many thanks, Kevin!
Thanks also Wow22, yes, I was rather uncertain too, this is my first example so I wanted to err on the side of caution with any attributions. Thanks for the link, & I agree, the shape looks spot on...
Well done you!
Thanks so much, Peggy! Always fun to bag a good buy, that's for sure!
