I noticed that some are signed “Roy Taylor” while others are signed just “Taylor”.....same painter?

I don't know ...we have a direction but more research needs to be done. The owner has to take the reins now. There's only so much we can do looking at pictures on the internet.

Very true! I did notice the “Roy Taylor“ signed paintings of water all had some point of reference such as boulders, cliffs, beaches, etc, not just the middle of breaking waves as the “Tayler” signed one.
You’ve given the owner good info to get his own search going.

Again I'm no expert.. sometimes you just have to use your best judgment.

If you search for something on the Internet and there's lots of them then chances are it's probably a fake.

If you only see a few or one or none there's a possibility you might have some significance.

If you're looking at prints or paintings or sculptures.. look for signs of age.

Just because a painting isn't famous doesn't mean it doesn't have value. There's always a decorative value. A lot of items are bought due to this. Often times for much more what they should have sold for.

Is here already figured out you can't keep it all. What you want is just the cream off the top.

I really do apperciate all ur advice n it makes a lot of sence every painting isnt going to be something to get rich off theres been so many people i spoke with in town with so many different opinions its overehelming. I've been collecting all my life but only recently came to this site. I've learned a lot myself since I got here. Just keep hosting and keep reading you'll learn a lot too.

And as you already figured out.... art is subjective. Just like the saying goes, "There is a 'ummm'..butt ...for every seat.". It's the same way with art.

There's lots of stuff that I wouldn't buy or have in my collection. However I can still appreciate it.

I understand this is a collectors site but y are they against selling stuff?is it cause that defeats the whole meaning of collecting?
    9. dav2no1 dav2no1, 4 years ago
Wow if I had a poster that was worth up to $5,000 I'd be pretty happy! I mean that's what I pair of my matching custom 1911s are worth.

But again I'm not an expert. You need to find an appraiser that specializes in posters. I know I seen some on the Antiques Roadshow.

Then you need to decide whether the cost of appraisal is worth it. AND... you have to be prepared to find out it may be worth nothing. And now you've lost that money did it cost to do the appraisal. This is part of the reality of collecting.

I wish the site would allow us to edit our text. Text and talk sucks
    11. dav2no1 dav2no1, 4 years ago
And why are you posting this here and not under the ballet poster comments? The idea of this forum is so people can see all the information about an item. That includes the comments and extra findings.

You go to the menu show- and tell then go to your profile page and you can see all your postings. As well as search for new comments or latest post

Are you on the phone or computer? And what's not there? Are you saying that you're missing stuff out of your profile? Or you can't get to your profile
    17. dav2no1 dav2no1, 4 years ago
I think you may have accidentally deleted it? Cuz I don't see my comments under my profile either. And it looked at your profile page and you're right it's not there.
