This is a Japanese tea set that was bought in Occupied Japan around 1948. I have been told it is Meiji period and either Hizan or Kutani-yaki. Any more information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is a rather surprising assessment Kutani Yaki is a container term and there is no YAKI ( ware symbol in it ), well just slice a satsuma yaki mark and you can see the difference

and second of all we are in an very poorly stilised ZAN part of the mark, iIMO we
run are into a dark horse namely the KAMIYAMA- and now we have to converse in likely SHINZAN part of the ZAN

I got in trouble by means of the sampling because hillbilly assessed this as meijji
while the ristrictions of the follow up of the tariff act are still in operation

and the spread is that wide that it could be taisho period , the MON is out and the inbande is in

so i tend to early taisho period but who am i

i am rooky , but i got a idea the sampling are complete rookies so the sampling ain,t fully significant , and it is hard to assess a dark horse
