I've long collected old photos of Coca-Cola signs, especially those depicting versions on display in our Coke Cave. They do have a tendency to fascinate. Especially scenes of people, capturing specific moments in time. On my previous RPPC "Coke Shack" post, Elisabethan and Watchserver certainly make insightful and thought-provoking comments (thank you).

Which got me thinking about this recent purchase: a glass plate negative of an old refreshment stand. I scanned the image and reversed the exposure to good outcome (better than I expected, because I know nothing about photography... yay technology!). I would love to have a large format professionally developed. Not sure that's possible in this day and age.

This photo was taken around the same time as the RPPC - 1915-ish. The advertising and staging of subjects are wonderful as well. Really a tale of two worlds, not too far apart in proximity. But so different. We've come a long way, gotta keep it going!

Right on all counts I believe, and you have a good eye Ms.CS! That "hidden" Coke sign is not easy to see.

Ummm...silly question, but what's pic 3? Doesn't look like it has a Coca-Cola logo on it at a glance, though it DOES look like its prolly something fun...?? ;-) :-)

An early 1900’s plaster 26” tall statue of a young boy, advertisement for “Allen’s Cherry Tame” soda. If you look above the girl near center, it's there.
