I didn’t know Stennett designed the animals! The things you teach me Jenni!
This seal is a delight.
Very sleek and seal-like! I can see him doing that funny bouncy rolling hop they do over the stones and into the water and barking too! Now, I wonder did they ever do a walrus- those are funny looking creatures with their big teeth, I'd love to see one depicted by Wedgewood
Thank you very much for the love all, my seal is clapping :)

Thanks Karen for the super praise and interest in Mr Stennett (-Willson), I dug deeper and found much more to share (there is a RSW website). He was a captain in the Royal Tank Regiment during WW2, after which he became involved in mostly marketing art glass, particularly Scandinavian. He started his own co King's Lynn Glass that was bought out by Wedgwood in the late 60s, designing glass (including animals like this one) for them thru 79. In the late 80s he started Langham Glass with Paul Miller, which you know is a fave animal glassmaker of mine, so he has certainly spread his talent around, and I am quite happy he has done so! BTW have another Langham piece on order, part of an early holiday gift from hubby
Lauren thanks so much for your wonderful comment, this seal certainly has an active look, unlike many you see just lolling around the docks right. I always loved the amberina color but this is the seal I had mentioned before that was hard to photograph due to dark inner streaks, got some sunshine peeking thru the window so finally got some good pix. There is a large glass walrus showing his big teeth, it's made by Kosta Boda as part of their World Wildlife series, think it was made in the 70s so its rarely available online but hopefully I can get it one of these days
Thanking you all for the really kind love
