I'd love to learn more about this piece. It just feels ancient! I'm pretty sure that it is early Dhokra metalwork from India, but that's all i know. I found it on ebay.

- open rings not closed rings , so we can probably rule out the the Bengali
is it Odisha or Orissa ( same place different time slightly different unless faked)
its Orissa , the snake design and ! the cross bottom , so made probably around 1910 and i think the locks are quite impressive , so i think its more likely a money box than a t than an trinket box
maybe the fake soaked them , but looks good
