Just like "The Cap Snaffler" did back in the '80s, it "snaffles caps off of all types of cans, bottles and jars and it really, really works!"
Made by the Edlund Co., Inc. of Burlington, Vermont in the 1940s, this thing is simple genius.
As you turn it, it grips and tightens onto the lid or bottle-cap and the harder you turn, the tighter it gets until your jar or bottle is open.
Aunt Lillian kept this in the pantry and never had a problem with opening any of Aunt Nita's well-sealed Ball jars of preserves.
After 80 years, it still works perfectly!
What a cool, simple invention! Thanks for sharing..
And it even has a 'red handle'-- I want one, too!!! <lolol>
You're quite welcome, dav2no1!
Thank YOU for your comment and for 'loving' the post!
Thanks for the love and comment, AnythingObscure!
It seems that finish of the red paint on the handle has chipped away partly , but it's interesting to note that the wood was stained enough to retain the red coloring!
Love it! This is another Blast of the past for me, Good Memories of how this Country was when i Grew up in the 50's and 60's. Funny thing is, you can still find these great treasures at yard sales and thrift stores, but seems nobody wants them anymore except us.
Thanks for sharing,
LZ...
I think this is the coolest design kitchen gadget I’ve ever seen
Very similar to the one Ralph and Norton tried to sell
"What do you bring us, oh Chef of da Future?"
"I bring you TOP-OFF!"
"Zip! Zip! It is done!"
^^^ <LOLOLOL> !!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Izenglish, I love that you love it!
It brings back a simpler time.
If nobody wants them anymore,
that's all the better for US to collect them!
Thanks for screwing around with me here for a bit,
