As collectors of Bohemian and Czech decorative glass its not often we venture into the very attractive glass school decorative glass pieces, which were on exhibit periodically and also sold.
Thankfully, the Truitts in their Volume II of their Bohemian Glass 2 part series, gave us an overview of this category, with good information and examples. I have permission since 2015 to use these books for illustrations of my many Czech glass projects.
The glass industry, the skill set required, the glass guild, the glass schools, the practical training years, all indicate how serious and important these enterprises were for Bohemia/Czechoslovakia.
I am posting 4 images and their Truitt book pages including glass items and their provenance. The inspiration came from our member Loumanal who had difficulty getting his lovely glass vase identified a couple months ago. I felt a post about this subject would be good to offer on CW.
Thank you Lisa! It’s exactly what I needed to classify my vase....Novy Bor Glass School circa 1915. Bob
Youre very Welcome Bob.
Ms.C, I also made an inquiry on her Facebook page several months ago, she said she had a difficult summer with much stress and decided to leave much of her internet participation for a while, for a needed rest. Merry Christmas to you too!
you like the book really ?
