I think that this is an early 20th c powder blue covered vase with gilt [grisaille?] decoration. It had a cover too, but that's in a hundred pieces inside the piece. I haven't heard back from the seller yet, but i decided to take it apart and try to glue it and i added a wooden cover i had to hide the broken bits.
What a shame such a beautiful piece arrived broken. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago, I too had an item arrive via USPS that was also broken. The seller made me file a claim with USPS instead of refunding. Not sure what I'll do with the piece yet.
Thank you jscotto. I was reimbursed for it today, thankfully. Yes, it is a real shame that people don't package their items better. I can't complain too loudly though as i sold something once and packaged it very poorly and it arrived broken - and it was something very beautiful and rare too. my bad!
this is strange stuff ,the actual ought to be was this vase a mock mistake
