Once again having the Boy Scouts of America logo stamped into an object makes it ever so much more valuable. Plus it has a nifty boy scout lanyard which is even better. The whistle has a cork ball inside and is pretty much the same as a PE coach or police whistle. It is a sturdy high quality piece which is typical of BSA equipment.
I am dating this as 1960s as I found a photo of 1960s Boy Scout patches and other pieces from 1960s. It was probably sold in the 1950s and 70s too but hard to say for sure. It is stamped Made in USA.
Cody is seen wearing the whistle in photos 3 and 4. The lanyard has knits which I adjusted to make it fit. Adjustable knots seem very boy scoutish. One of the knots actually comes off go figure.
That's pretty neat!!
hank you very much Scott.
