I won this on ebay the other day and it arrived today. A beautiful and very old wooden santo from somewhere in Latin America - probably Mexico or Peru, but possibly Spain or Italy? the wood is very hard and polished in just the right places from being touched by the devoted over many years. He's a monk of a particular order, but i have no idea what order nor how old nor what he is holding in his arm. Any ideas? I spotted him by looking up the items for sale under the category 'Wooden Folk Art Objects'.
