This charming Victorian art glass vase is the latest addition to my collection.
It is made from pale pink opalescent glass with applied decoration in yellow - green uranium glass. There is an applied leaf trail with a dark green fruit (possibly a plum) & applied leaf feet.
The vase measures 18 cm tall, 2.5 cm across the cut & polished top rim, & 7 cm across the base.
Of a cylindrical form, it narrows towards the top.
Most likely of Bohemian origin.
Oh wow, that's really a beautiful vase!
Many thanks, jscott0363!
I'm thrilled with it, because it's a bit different...I've got a lot of glass with applied decoration, & quite a few "tube vases" but nothing in this colour combo, or with an applied "plum", so it was a must have...
wonderful
Love it!

I like how the fruit breaks up the prettiness, like a stain on a tulle dress, but better.
Well that sounds bad, I meant in a positive way!
A beautiful vase, elegant even, but a puzzle. I love the colour and texture.
Many thanks, kivatinitz!
Thanks also, Scott!
I totally get where you're coming from, Karen - it just adds that touch of quirk which makes it even better...& I'm always up for a touch of quirk! :-)
Much appreciated, Peggy! Thought you'd enjoy this one, it's got a lot of interesting things going on, as Victorian glass tends to do...
I've been comparing it to other tube vases I have with applied decoration, & I'm considering a group photo to show just how different it is...though the feet are familiar, as is the vertical ribbing (which on this is ever so slightly twisted).
Wow. The colors radiate - brillant combo of the designs with the colors. I have to admit that your post have sparked a renewed passion for glass art. However, the artist you have shared surpass any that I have seen, so I'm educating and looking. Great piece to add to your collection. Lori
Thanks so much, Lori, it's nice to think that my collection is renewing your interest in glass. When I joined CW just over four years ago, even though I'd been collecting for a long time already, the amazing posts I saw here of other people's collections were a massive inspiration. My eyes were opened to many different types of glass, & it helped me to better focus on what I wanted to achieve with my own collection going forward.
