Hi all. I was wondering if anyone had any information about these three miniature pieces of pottery I have. I bought these along with some other Japanese Satsuma mini's which I believe to be authentic, and not reproductions. The owner had a wonderful collection of miniatures in superfine conditions! I was lucky to take home several. These three I cannot be sure of. Can anyone read the markings or have an idea of where they are from or their age? Any thoughts/comments welcome. Happy New Year!
thank you jscott, aura, vetraio, dav2
i probably know the middle one but you have be my eyes, and its a rather complicated story
the mark is upside down , but that does, not matter, there are 5 tridents in this mark( small big etc )
watch the trident in middle section up and the middle section down, it readsDa Qing Jiaqing Nian Zhi - "Great Qing Jiaqing period (1796-1820) made"
the point this motif is unknown in this period, because the origin is mainly guangxu and the imitations are Republic Period
but trhe colour of the mark would be different and this is a sandpress bottom without ferro sedimitation
so this is likely second half t20 century, actually its a copy of a copy
I really like the Famille Verte one on the right. The iron red one is nice too! i have a bunch of these - all probably 20th c.
ok, excellent thank you for your help, apostata, ho2 thank you for commenting!
I will make a new post of the satsuma type miniatures that came along with these, I am assuming they are early 20th century, but any help or information is also great. Thanks again!
