This old dial thermometer advertises QUEEN INS.CO. OF AMERICA, Incorporated in New York State 1891, specifically the WESTERN DEPARTMENT in Chicago. It was made by STANDARD THERMOMETER CO. of Boston, Mass., stamped on its backside. It measures 6" across and sits about 1-1/2" away from whatever surface it is hung on. (now the wall in my den)

I know nothing more about it, or the firm, only that I've been waiting a very long time to finally acquire this piece.

Nice! Congrats! Was a burglary involved in acquiring it? I have my eye on a few things......

Thank you Kevin. No theft involved, sadly it took an "estate" instead...
