Highly carved "his and hers" chairs with cherubs (his and hers - they are slightly different in size). Just reupholstered and woodwork cleaned and polished. Could be Venetian Baroque or Baroque Revival. Could be French. I'm not sure.
In the background is what I believe is an 18th Century French wedding armoire in walnut. Again not positive.
What incredible pieces these are! Those carvings are just outstanding. I also love the choice of fabric for the reupholstering.
The harp style backs are breathtaking, definitely statement pieces !~
Thank you Phil & Jscotto363
I love seeing the arm a bit in first photo of the background of that other gorgeous chair photo far right, which one can barely see. Must be a fabulous Empire piece, so gorgeous details. All the decoration here is so sumptuous, no compare ! The red wall is beyond ones imagination as it signifies bygone decoration which is out of style now that people are so beguiled by "open concept" which is all the same over and over. I hope it comes back in style some day but that seems foreign as so many young people have no appreciation for the quality of the old, and especially for quality.
I love too the upholstery on these red chairs. The digital cameras have a hard time capturing the design here - as when it is a more complex photo or especially dark things the digital pixels begin to separate when the camera can barely capture the gradation in the photos, let alone the red cross design that rolls on these pieces. I could almost see the rich of the 18th century gliding around the furniture here ! The chairs are exquisite !~
So much appreciate your comments Phil.
What is the object with faces up top?
AmphoraPottery,
I like it but it's just a modern planter I bought a few years back.
Ah, I thought it was another of your Art Nouveau ceramic gems.
