I love that green pottery bird. The crest on it is associated with Saxony, e.g.:

This mid-century green ceramic ashtray with the "Providentiae Memor" or "providence remember" crest representing the German Kingdom of Saxony which existed between 1806-1918.

This piece really doesn't look at all like your green pottery bird, but the listing gives a bit more background on the manufacturer(s) and artist(s):

Alvino Bagni and Aldo Londi both worked for Bitossi, Rosenthal Netter, and Raymor. Rosenthal Netter was an importer of Italian pottery in the early 50s along with another well known company Raymor.

Aldo Londi was born in Montelupo in 1911, and started working for a ceramics manufacturer when he was 11 years old. After being taken prisoner in South Africa during WW2, he returned to Italy and in 1946 was appointed artistic director at Bitossi. This listing is for a beautiful bird box designed by Aldo Longi for Bitossi. This bird is from the Rimini Blu collection of ceramics, which was created in the early fifties. It measures approximately 8.5" long, 6" high, and 5" wide. On the top lid, there is a silver plaque which reads "Providentiae Memor" which translates to "Providence Remember". The plaque appears to be original to the piece and possible composed of sterling silver (no guarantees here, but it looks like real silver). The underside of the piece is marked "73/11 B" and impressed "Italy".
