Hi, You might be interested in Edlund's history - perhaps get in touch with them and ask about your find.

      Hi, Xris21crppn. :-)

A patent number. Cool. I like patent numbers that I can look up in the USPTO databases.

However, when I typed that number (1995550) into the database, I got something completely different. So I took a close look at your picture, tweaked the number to 1996550, and got a patent that looks right:

      https://pdfpiw.uspto.gov/.piw?PageNum=0&docid=01996550&IDKey=CF32656D7634%0D%0A&HomeUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fpatft.uspto.gov%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fpatimg.htm

Whether or not you keep this item is a value judgment for you to make.

I personally have a couple of vintage can openers that I keep simply because they're family items, and as such they're of sentimental value.
