Got this at a big discount because it had no box. No big as I have no room for the box. This is a 1/24 scale die cast model of a top fuel dragster. This one is the Mission Tortillas sponsored car. Top fuel dragsters have pretty much looked like this for the last 30 years. This one is marked 1996 on the underside but that does not mean it was released in 1996. There are several versions of this with different paint schemes they have used throughout the years.
For those unfamiliar with top fuel dragsters they probably the fastest of any major racing car. These go over 300 MPH in a quarter mile. And they are delightfully loud. Plus the smell of burning rubber and fuel. Mostly rubber as they generate large clouds of smoke warming up their tires. At night you can see the flames from the headers and you can really only get the full experience in person.
