    Hello Collectors
Please can someone give me some insight into the attached photos. The figurine was given to my wife by my late mother-in-law about 15 odd years ago. I believe the company that manufactured the figurine no longer exists. Thank You and Kind Regards Graeme.

      Hi, graemesb. :-)

      About Jema:

      *snip*

On the 25th of November 1955 the original partnership was broken up and the two brothers founded the JEMA KERAMISCH ATELIER N.V. (jema ceramic studio), the first JE standing for Jelis and MA standing for Mager.

      *snip*

It can be stated that it was a real family business. There is no information about how many people were employed but on management level in old registers family related members are mentioned in the course of many the years. In August of 1958 a 'Hendrik Mager' became Co-Director. On the 1st of April 1963 Jelis Mager retired followed by his brother Johan Willem on the 8th of April 1977. In October 1977 the company got a new director by the name of Adolf Gustaaf Wiemer who apparently was a relative of Hendrik Mager. Hendrik Mager retired on the 20th of October 1982 and was followed up by Jacobus Wiemer. On the 28th of June 1984 the company was declared insolvent and had to close its doors.

They seem to have made more than a few deer/stag figurines, but I don't see yours here (although 25 and 26 are close):

This worthpoint listing has number 215, but no dating information:

      *snip*

Vintage Stag from Jema Holland Rare shape number 215, A large 30cm tall by 35cm long The antlers are detachable and made of something other than china, maybe wood or resin no damage, in very good condition a tiny fault under the glaze on one of the bits of greenery
