This is the second of my recent trio of Welz finds - a squat vase with attitude!
It is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over a bold spatter, with a white interior. The spatter is made up of larger flecks than those on the first vase. There's still the same deep red, but with more accents of blue & green. It's a more patchy, painterly sort of spatter that has a touch of the "decoupage" style to it in the overlapping light & darker tones.
The vase measures 8.5 cm tall, 10 cm across the four cornered, crimped & pinched top rim, & 6.5 cm across the base.
I really, really enjoy that extra fancy crimped top. It gives this small vase a lot of "personality".
In perfect condition for its age as well.
So very beautiful!!
Many thanks, jscott0363!
A great little WELZ beauty!

attitude is the word for this vase, the colors are fantastic, they jump with the white encase - awesome piece. !
Again, those scattered / splashed colours. Very desirable. Excellent find, IronLace.
That is a very gorgeous piece.
Love it!
Thanks also, Scott!
Much appreciated, Lori!
Thanks also, Russell117 - Victorian spatter glass is such a treat, especially since there's so many variations. I was like the proverbial kid in a candy shop when I spotted these pieces!
Thank you most kindly, clockerman!
I like this spatter with the extra blue. Great shaped mouth on this one too.
Many thanks, Karen!
