I believe my window locks are from the late 1800's and are Victorian Style. Material seems to be cast iron and brass.
    Comments appreciated if I'm wrong.

Very cool item! Do you know what the brass knob is for?

Brass knob is decorative! Haven't seen anything identical.

I know nothing about your latch other than it's beautiful and I like old iron. I tried to find out about the brass finial. It does seem to be for looks. I found this one and it looks to me like the lever locks into the brass piece. Maybe to prevent someone from opening from the outside?

Yes, a little like it. On mine, one side lever pushes and turns to lock. Remember taking layers of paint off! Maybe I can add pic on item to show.
