Four months ago, I posted this 1890 lawn sprinkler. It was made by the Stebbing Mfg. Co. in Springfield, Mass. It is called "The Comet Lawn Sprinkler". The last photo shows an advertising of the sprinkler in 1890. It was in rough shape with bent top sprinkler head and missing two of the three rotating spray wands.
I said that I would post it after I cleaned it up and made three new spray wands and nozzles. It now looks as it did in 1890 with the cast iron legs and body painted a forest green paint, the brass is now polished , the top sprinkler head straightened out and three new spray wands with new nozzles made
I always get a sense of satisfaction if I can keep something from the scrap yard, even something as sinple as a lawn sprinkler.

Very nice restoration on an interesting piece. Do you have any info about what the hoses were like, materials used, etc., at the time?

thanks for your comments dave, Wsatchmaker, and Congau,
You asked if I have any info about the hosee material that they used. I don't have any direct information about the hoses that they used, but they used the same type of hose connection that I have in my garden hose at home. You might be able to see the hose connection on photo # 3. Sorry that i didn't make the connection more noticeable.
