Not being terribly up on 'religious jewelry' I don't quite know what to make of this, as to its usage anyway. Clues welcomed from those who might?!! :-) :-) :-)
It is a small silver locket about an inch across with an intricate design and initials GES on its bottom hinged lid, connected to a 2-3/4" delicate chain consisting of three squared 'bars' connected by short sets of round links, then attached to a solid ring measuring about 3/4"ID. Its backside (not shown) bears a couple small dents, suggesting it has somehow been carried or worn in its past life, however long that might be -- I don't have a clue in that regard either.
The ring on the locket and cross on the rosary beads are both marked "STERLING", (pic 4) the whole thing weighs just a little over 12g.
