Picked up a couple cheap signs recently. Not Pickers material but good enough for now.
This one is an L&M Cigarettes sign. It is 20"x24" and is embossed. The embossed part is the cigarette package. There was a similar sign in the 1950s with a hand holding the pack.
The slogan "Come Over to the L&M Side" was used from 1967-1968. That is what my net research turned up. Sounds reasonable to me. Interesting that the blue paint is intact but the other colors not so much. Different paints colors are made from different materials so go figure. Would probably look better if the blue was a bit subdued. It's outside now but in a place where there is little direct sunlight. Sunlight can turn some signs white. Porcelain signs are ok to put in direct sunlight.
Now the thing is when I get new signs I have to rearrange. Life is rough.
PS L&M stands for Liggett & Myers.
