I won this piece on an ebay auction. It's kind of interesting - definitely has some age and condition issues. I believe there were three figures and the one in the middle was broken off and removed.

any idea how this was used?
looks like a peaceful place for Meditation....you ever read Huston Smith & Philip Novak....... Buddhism, a concise introduction..later cool picks and find,,..
no. i've read alot about Buddhism, but not them. are they particularly special?
of coarse they are ...lol nop my doctor told me I was wound to tight and need budda in my life to relax ,..so my wife picked this up for me to read ....smiling
nice bowls by the way , wanli , batavia , tongzhi, amsterdam bont , the bencharong is strange
the bencharong are new. i keep finding them, so i collect them. even the new ones sell pretty well from what i've seen.
i remembed vaguely , you got some very good bencharang, and your wanli is better than average rather nice, the bencharong in the picture lets say cute
anything sells nowadays , i sold some republic period stuff , signed daoguang , and xianfeng, i explicitly announced it was republic period , it sold like hot cakes, actually i felt a bit guilty
i know! i've been watching sales and it looks nice, it sells high regardless of when it was made. i'm seeing the same thing across the board in ceramics - not just Asian.
