At first sight I thought these were some kind of fan vase. In fact they are a reworking of a a centuries old design called tulip vases. Other companies of the time likely produced pieces with similar five stem tops.

OMG. What a score. I have NEVER EVER seen this Welz shape. Only familiar with the Loetz tulip version...

IronLace, I doubt they are unique so I guess it's only a matter of time. Good Luck!

Wow22, I'd remembered the green one. Apparently the original design was Delft and goes back to the 16th/17th centuries. When tulips first came on the market single bulbs changed hands for hundreds of pounds! Crazy but well documented.

I didn't realise tulips were once so prized. So interesting.

Wow22, Of course it didn't last as folks just grew more bulbs and the price dropped. At first though no one had enough blooms for a standard vase!

I have one very similar to the one on the far left in photo 4 but the colours are much darker. Interesting to see all the different shapes! :)

BHIOS, the pieces to the extreme right and left are mini oil lamps and used a floating wick. Welz shapes are pretty well endless!
