PEPSIMAN comes from, believe it or not, Japan!
I'll bet most of you have never heard of him.
    Here's why...
In the early 1990s, Pepsi created an ad campaign specifically for the Japanese market!
As you can see, Pepsi Man has no face!
But press this his legs together and he raises his right arm while his head changes to one with an open mouth!
    Why?
Because in the commercials, which never aired on this side of the Pacific, a computer-generated PepsiMan would telepathically sense that someone somewhere had run out of Pepsi-Cola and he would zip through the streets at lightning speed to deliver them a can of Pepsi and make that weird face!
As he dramatically opened the can, the fizz would escape with what they called a "Schwaaaa!" sound!
It's one of those things you have to SEE to believe!
The commercials can easily be found on the internet and are well worth searching out because they're hilarious!
BANDAI produced a series of action figures designed to appear as though they were made in America, because, just as many American collectors loved Japanese toys which weren't readily available at their local Toys 'R' Us, Japanese kids loved Toys made here in The States!
    No kidding!
    Check out those commercials, folks!
    You'll be glad you did!

And all very true, Vynil, old friend!
They even hired an American Ad Agency in Hollywood to design the packaging!

      Really, Newfld?
Then you'd love one of the other figures in the set.
I don't know HOW they did it, but
he's only halfway painted and the rest is caramel-colored clear plastic that looks AND SMELLS like Pepsi!!!
      And I'm NOT kidding!
It really actually smells like Pepsi!
