I’d like to share a new Loetz DEK, DEK III/64, here on a PNI-3066 vase of matte salmon colored glass. As soon as I saw this vase, I suspected it was an early piece of Loetz due to its coloring and shape, and I was very pleased to see it was clearly marked on the base, III./64. The pattern on the front of the vase is connected to the back by a tracery of vines on the side. As this is an old piece, much of the original gilt is now gone, but in places I can still see where the faint outlines gilt leaves once were. It was quite dirty when it arrived with years of grime on it, but I was very happy to see it cleaned up well!
Congratulations, Michelle, on having studied and mastered your subject. The vase is beautiful and well deserved.

Peggy, you are too kind. Thank you very much. I do study Bohemian glass quite a bit, but there is always so much more to learn! :)
