    Torque
    (6 items)

Bought this in Adana Turkey in the 80's. Never been stained or other wise finished. It is the first piece of furnisher you see when you come in our front door. The print of the lighthouse has nothing to do with the chest. We picked up the print as a souvenir and it fit perfectly in the center panel so there it lays under the glass. I have tried to decide how to finish the bare wood over the years, but keep changing my mind. Any ideas?

      Hi, Torque. :-)

      That's beautiful.

I don't know what your preference is for wood finishes, but my own is for a quality, clear finish that let's the natural beauty of the wood show, like tung oil.

It sounds like you've had this piece unfinished for a long time, so before applying any finish, you'll probably want to clean thoroughly the surface with something like denatured alcohol or mineral spirits:

Thank you keramikos for the comment and the suggestion. Had not really thought about cleaning it first, so glad you said something. The final product will be better because of your input.

I hope you'll show us a picture once you get it finished.
