I am trying to identify what this is, where it originated and what it's for. It is about 1.75 inches high with the only writing shown. My brother found this, buried in the dirt, in Japan when he was in the service (early 80's). It seems very old, with bubbling. No marks other than the writing shown. It is very special to him and I'd love to give him history on it. I can't find any bottles anywhere even remotely close to this shape and size.
It says “mercurial ointment”
Thank you so much! Mystery closer to being solved! Any idea how old it is?
a vintage bottle used in the dermatolgy,
its just a guess
Pardon the interruption please, but I'm accidentally more curious about the ruler than the bottle -- does it advertise "The Spencer Turbine Company" perchance?? I'd love to see a picture or two of your ruler by itself if possible...??? :-) :-) :-)
There you go, AnythingObscure! An old boyfriend of mine used to work in IT at Spencer. I've moved to Florida since - he got laid off years ago and I'm not sure Spencer still exists! I added pictures for you.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU dsither445!!! Indeed that's the Company I thought it was -- in addition to the equipment listed on it they also make blowers for pipe organs, for the last hundred years or so!!! In order to keep from cluttering up your showing of your brother's cool old bottle any more I'll put up some of my 'old blower part' collections shortly!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
