Picked up this piece of yard art at the Santa Monica Flea which has reopened. It was one of the fourth Sunday fleas in the LA area.
I have not found a match for this on the net aside from a site called Collectors Weekly where it was posted 10 years ago. Sadly I did not find out for certain any information but 1940s/50s does seem reasonable. It is a very simple tricycle without an additional rear brace on the back step. In the long ago you could have a rider stand on the back step. The skinny wheels are what is most noticeable about this trike. They are super skinny. They probably did not stand up well to play. I am sure it will do fine as yard art and the gnomes will take fine care of it.
Here is the CW link.

Very cool tricycle! Those skinny wheels are what makes it so cool! Nice find.
Perfect as is! Fine for the gnomes so long as they don’t aim it downhill.
What a neat find! I love the seat. My bicycle needs a seat like this ! Come to think of it, I haven't seen a child ride a tricycle on sidewalks for about a decade. This is a great reminder how chlidren used to play outside.
Thank you very much Scott. A valid point.
Thank you very much Watchsearcher. That could go badly for them.
Thank you very much alfie. Yes children could suffer an injury and cry. Would be tragic.
Wouldn't it be tragic.
