Was my great uncles and I think it's a bottle cap opener and I believe from Washington State our home state. Says I "DIG" WASH. On it. Still searching for more about it.

I live in Washington state as well and I'm trying to figure what it could mean..maybe a clam shovel? That would seem to make sense.

      Or a bi-valve mollusk opening-tool (*shudder*).

I tried to find a similar one, but a quick search produced this fearsome-looking thing:

      *snip*

Vintage stainless clam or oyster shucker stamped Made in Italy with the patent number and Hoffritz, NY.

      *snip*

      https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-hoffritz-ny-clam-shell-opener-1806066897

So, no joy, but it makes me wonder if that other recent mystery item (https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/295000-what-is-this-and-what-is-it-used-for) isn't some kind of bi-valve mollusk shucker.
