when i get a hankering to spin the wheel of dharma, i have this piece. it kind of reminds me of the way in Thailand, so many beautiful wooden things were plastered w/ shellac/varnish - which kind of ruins them. I had a house which was built over several hundred years and there was NO shellac or varnish in it and it was so beautiful! completely made from teak.

thanks keramicos and Sean! my old teak house was really beautiful. it was small, but the floor of each room was at a slightly different level than the others, so you had to step up or down when entering ea room The whole thing was on stilts too and it was in a little forest near the center of town.
