Please excuse the mess at the bottom of photo #1 as doing an almost full length shot was a last minute thought. But anyway the garters can be seen at the top of the long socks. Now on with this uniform shirt.
It is mostly as found although I added a Arrow of Light Patch, Raven patrol patch and service stars. The scout had achieved the rank of Star Scout which is a fairly high rank. He held the position of Scribe which is a troop position as opposed to a patrol position. The position was basically that of secretary. Troops were made up of Patrols. Generally taking a position of Scribe would be a requirement to obtain a higher rank which would be Life Scout in this case.
Right pocket is a camp patch which clearly puts this uniform at post 1973. Back then Irvine had Orange County International Raceway and Lion Country Safari. The camp was probably in the hills around there. It is a nice area.
Left sleeve as the City Stripe which is Garden Grove, a city in Orange County. Also the troop number and Scribe patch. That style patch was first used in 1972.
Wrapping it up is the flag patch which became standard also in 1972 and the patrol patch. The right sleeve had been a bit empty so the flag patch was a nice addition.
Heading off to the Rose Bowl tomorrow. First one since last year so there should be some exciting items coming soon.
Cody looks fab in his 70s gear, suits his personal style.
Great uniform collection Fort. You do it well.
