Columbus Ohio Golden Rule Brand Named Silver Medal 1919
Columbus, Ohio, Silver Medal dated 1919 issued by the “Golden Rule Pure Food House” which is the brand name for the Citizens Wholesale Supply Co.
The obverse has a shield in the center containing “TRADE MARK GOLDEN RULE CWS CO monogram REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” in four lines. Above the shield is the company founding year 1894 and below the issue year 1919. All within legend “GOLDEN RULE SILVER JUBILEE”.
The reverse has the 14 line inscription “PRESENTED BY THE GOLDEN RULE PURE FOOD HOUSE TO ETHEL MEYERS (name is engraved) UPON THE OCCASION OF OUR SILVER JUBILEE AS A SPECIAL MARK OF APPRECIATION FOR EFFICIENCY AND ATTENTION TO DUTY.”
The medal is not marked but is .900 fine silver as indicated by a specific gravity of 10.3. Diameter is 35 mm and weighs 18.35 grams, plain edge.
