    (930 items)

Picked this up on eBay AU. I really thought that the bidding would run hot, but no, it was just little old me.
I know I've seen a vase like this somewhere...maybe in someone's collection on CW, but I can't track it down now.
It is made from a single layer of pale green glass with an intense iridescent finish, & has a moulded floral pattern.
The vase flares out widely to a wavy, loosely crimped top, & measures 9.5 cm tall, 14.5 cm across the top rim, & 7 cm across the base, which has a neatly polished out pontil mark.
This is clearly a high quality item, delicate & fine. The colour reminds me somewhat of my two pieces of Loetz Olympia.
Many thanks to Michelle for pointing out this pattern as being Horse Chestnut, made by Richardson's or John Walsh Walsh. Thanks also to Peggy & Penny as well. I'm thrilled to have acquired an example of English iridescent art glass - & it works so well with my gradually increasing assortment of Art Nouveau iridescent glass by Kralik, Loetz, & Rindskopf.

Hi Marin, I have one of these, and I actually think it is an English Stourbridge piece by either Richardson or Walsh Walsh. It is in their Horse Chestnut leaf pattern. If you ping the glass, it should sound a lot more bell-like when compared to typical glass. Yours is a beautiful example!

I agree with Michelle. I thought the flamboyant rim was reminiscent of Walsh Walsh but don't know enough to be sure.

Thanks so much, Michelle - & now I think I know where I must have seen this decor before! Horse Chestnut it is then - simply fabulous!

Thanks also, Peggy for the confirmation - my first example of iridescent Walsh Walsh!
