This is a field privileges badge from one of the most famous games in baseball history. To think this badge was on the field when Babe Ruth called his shot is a level of baseball history few items possess. I haven’t seen another badge exactly like this, being for field privileges at Wrigley Field for the 1932 World Series. I have, however, seen them from Yankee Stadium. But Wrigley is where game 3 was, and therefore where the called shot took place.
Kaufmann and Fabry was a photography company in Chicago during this time period and they even have photographs displayed in the Art Institute of Chicago. I wasn’t able to find photos from the 1932 World Series from Kaufmann and Fabry, so if anyone knows of any, that would be helpful to understand more about this badge.
Any additional info would be appreciated. Thanks for looking.
Wonderful find from that historic game
