I've had this guy for so long and often tried to ID him with no joy. He is around 5" high .. for some reason, I think he is old german ?? No one likes him except me. Does anyone have a clue about him ....please!
He looks like a gay pirate high on drugs to me.
They all treasured their pirate booty
'Pirate'? Mebbe. 'High on drugs' -- oh yes, he looks that. 'Gay' -- I don't know how you get that one, fhrjr2... :-( :-( :-(
Anyway, lizzycbw. In seriousness he doesn't really look 'German' to me, frankly more Jamaican/Caribbean or thereabouts. (mebbe that's the 'high' look again?) *I* like him, and would gladly find him a little spot to sit in somewhere around here if he were mine...somehow he looks "happy", too??!!! :-) :-) :-)
Would it be possible to see the base?
I love him. When I first saw him I thought Bosson's Head, but don't think I've ever seen one with lipstick that red.

might someone have possibly taken liberties to reproduce a Bossons lookalike

He looks like a Paul Herzel bronze pirate homage in ceramics. Sort of! Herzel's pirate (buccaneer) has no beard and is wearing a scarf on his head. But they have the same expression and are looking the same way.

I was noticing the cap...he looks almost middle eastern to me?
Bossons may have called this Corsican

Uh - I think you know what he is! I thought he was chalkware, not ceramic. Same ear damage.
"Hand painted plaster or chalkware bust of a man, wearing what I believe is tuque/toque hat. I think he looks like an old fashioned sailor, or middle eastern man. He has a wire in his ear, whether this is the earring or something has gotten lost over the years I don't know. His bright red lips and bright eyes make him look different. I think he is Cortendorf, although unsigned His condition is good for his age, tiny bit of damage shown in picture 4
He stands 6" high.
He has graced various window sills in my home for a long time .... he needs a new home"

Celiene, Woo hoo! You found a twin. :-)
Thank you all so much for the help ... very much appreciated .... Lizzy
Looks exactly like anti-Semite designer Galiano including make-up.
