    Here in california, we are blessed with a slew of Iris species which are very promiscuous. They hybridize regularly and in spectacular ways. Here is one i planted a couple years ago in a garden near me in Oakland.

      it looks similar. i've had that one too. this one is probably a x w/ that one and another one. there are sooo many of them!
