Hello all. I have a rare Pink Satin Frosted Egg Art Glass With Cut Out Terrarium Viewing Window. This egg is gorgeous. This crystal egg is heavy and measures approximately 3 1/2" tall, 2 1/2" wide, and a 1 1/2" diameter flat base. The piece seems to be marked on the bottom but I are not sure as to the maker. There is another one of these on eBay, They are calling it a Baccarat and they said there's is an antique bought in Paris 25 years ago. My research has however found no information at all on these. I do not think this is Baccarat but of course I am hopeful to be wrong. Did Baccarat make eggs like this?

There is no way this is a Baccarat. It does have what appears to be a star and a fish etched in the bottom. Could not find any artists with that mark.

Does it matter who or where it was made ? Most of those companies just put their name on things they approve for resale. Tiffany is probably the most open example. The trade name doesn't make an object more beautiful. Just more valuable.

well i don,t know what it is but actually i prefer this to a fin the siecle baccarat, or a studio Ahus Dreutler , not static nice dynamic , good fluidum , well done , more bang for a few buck

"They are calling it a Baccarat and they said there's is an antique bought in Paris 25 years ago." Brother, the things people will say to sell their stuff on eBay, lol.

I actually don't know anything about Baccarat, but probably there are websites dedicated to their paperweights, collector clubs, or even the authentic Baccarat website that might be able to help you with ID. Pretty egg, good luck with it!
