This one's been hanging around somewhere for a couple decades since it was given to me, (vs. being thrown out) and has spent that time mostly just sitting on a shelf gathering dust. (but also otherwise being *not* thrown out...?!?) I looked at it close enough then to know it was complete but that's it. Even now I haven't attempted (yet?) to actually plug it in so I still don't know if it works or not.
It is a ZENITH, model# M505, chassis# 5L41. In a maroon red bakelite case, its speaker grille is on the front with a tuning dial on top under the handle and knobs on either side. On the back is the WAVE-MAGNET antenna, it unclips and has suction cups and an extended wire (the red one) that looks like it was meant to be 'directional' to help pull in distant stations. It is made to be powered either by a large battery that could be located inside its bottom, or an AC line cord to plug into the wall. A cursory look around the internets suggests this set was made in the early 1950's and was also available in black and green cases. (at least)
I have an admiral radio from the same time period,
Made with the same Red material
