Hello everyone....This past year has been surreal !! It's been quite a while since I posted on CW, so I figured I'd better check in. Hope you and yours are all safe and well as we finally begin to emerge from this nightmare. I'm just now past the two week interval since my second dose of the vaccine so I'm good to go. My parents went into assisted living last March just before the lockdown. So I finally got to see them for the first time last week face to face.
Now I have to deal with clearing their home and getting it ready to sell. Then, hopefully I will be ready to move out to my sisters farm that I've been working on over the past 3 years with my nephew (for the muscle). I'll officially be the resident caretaker. As the pictures show its a beautiful 10 acre property with a pond plus out buildings near the college of Oberlin in Ohio. My sister lives in New Jersey and we were sharing a booth at the local antique mall. She would visit once a month and bring new treasures. Sadly we decided to pack up and leave after 4 years last May. The pandemic was really hard on all businesses as you know. So now we have a whole barns worth of treasures. Way too much for the little farm house. It's been hard to pick and choose but I think it's shaping up nicely. Between the two of us we had no problem furnishing all the rooms in the house. The only new piece was the sofa. My sister hasn't visited or seen the house in over a year. While I've sent her pictures it doesn't compare to actually being there. Can't wait to see her again !
Here's to a fresh start for everyone and a return to some sense of normalcy.
All the best my CW friends. -Mike-
Hey old friend!!
So good to see you posting again!! You're so right about this horrible pandemic. I think we're all ready for some normalcy in our lives. Yesterday was two weeks for me since my second Moderna vaccine. Wonderful looking home and a beautifully decorated interior as well.
Scott
So good to hear from you too Scott ! Thanks for the compliment. My vaccine was Moderna as well. I think many of the pieces in that room were posted at some point in the past. Have plenty of new things to post as well and a lot of catching up to do.

Welcome back !!!!!
Welcome back! Great house and decorations! I got my second shot in the middle of April and finally back to thrift shopping recently. Figure I am going to live another 20-30 years and I am retired, so staying home for a year was not a hard decision for me. Home is my favorite place and it sounds like you will spending time in your favorite place soon....
Hi,Mike!Good to hear from you again.I'd love to visit your barn!:)
It’s a beautiful place :)
Hello vetraio50, kwqd, Ivonne, and Trey...so nice to hear from all of you again !
I am very envious Mike of the beautiful place you are living in. It must be very peaceful and calming and of course is wonderfully furnished!
Although we have avoided a lot of infection here in Aus our Govt has dropped the ball on vaccinations and like most Aussies I haven't even had my first yet.We still have front line workers unvaccinated and AZ (!) is the most widely used vaccine. Maybe by next year we will be done but really life here has been OK except for a couple of lockdowns.
I hope to see you post lots of your lovely new pieces!
Most of the year it is beautiful Karen but Winters are brutal. Quite windy and drifting snow being so open. We spent most of the last couple years on the house. This Summer we'd like to give the outside some attention. Buildings need paint and the pond's dock needs a redo to be safe to walk on. Very little landscaping to speak of just soybean fields. They still get planted every year as we lease the land to one of the local farmers.
So many new members at least to me....Thank you all for the "loves". :)
