The first thing that greets as you head up to the second floor is this handsome chest of drawers. It's quite large but really not that heavy. We barely got it upstairs long before any other work was done. It sat wrapped in a plastic drop cloth for a year and we worked around it. I believe its tiger maple veneers and mahogany. Not 100% sure of it's pedigree but I really love it . Perfect for blankets and linens. The two large crystal lamps my sister bought at auction. They almost touch the ceiling ! The headroom is rather low upstairs barely 7 feet. In fact the whole house seems built for short folks. I'm 5'6" so it suits me just fine. My sister is on the tall side but she loves the house so much it's not an issue.
The loft was originally one large space with a tacky wood paneled wall at one end. It was put up to create some storage space at the end of the room where the ceiling slants. There are also two bedrooms. We tucked a small half bath in the one corner, which is the wall where the chest now sits. It was easy to add as it's just above the full bath downstairs. There is still space for a sitting area. I have my flat screen mounted to the wall and all my electronic gadgets in that area which are just outside my bedroom. -Mike-
You really done an incredible job with this. I love those globe lamps in pic #2!!!
Thanks Scott... I love them too but they're a nightmare to clean...lol :)

mikelv85, Love that stairwell. <3
It gave me a flashback to the family home of a classmate. The house had been remodeled such that most of the attic had been turned into a bedroom for the classmate -- a teenager's dream.
Hi keramikos.....thanks for the comment and "love". The house had been rented for years and needed a lot of love. It's been around since 1865 with the last remodel in the 20's. We're trying to furnish it to span all the years as if one family had lived there with a bit from each decade. :)
Thanks for the "love" Newfld :)
Love the chest and the house!!
