Found at hoarders estate sale after digging under some items. I have found no markings. Appears welded 2 pieces of cast iron
Weighs 12.2 pounds
Appears original paint with a lot of age patina
Length 12"
Height 9"
Width 4"
The welding doesn't make sense. I don't deny it but it isn't normal and welding cast is tricky at best because even with modern welding equipment it will explode like a grenade when super heated. Looking at what little I can see of the feet, it appears to be older.
Have you put a magnet on it to be sure it is cast?
Looks bolted through the center?

Yes it passes the magnet test. Only welded smooth on the top seam. and there does appear to be a bolt or to me appears to be a rod that was peened to hold the 2 pieces together before welding. appears to have original paint and patina. I look hard for manf marks but came up empty. It has a home in my display cabinet until the truth has been found.
