    Found at hoarders estate sale after digging under some items. I have found no markings. Appears welded 2 pieces of cast iron

    Appears original paint with a lot of age patina

      The welding doesn't make sense. I don't deny it but it isn't normal and welding cast is tricky at best because even with modern welding equipment it will explode like a grenade when super heated. Looking at what little I can see of the feet, it appears to be older.

      Have you put a magnet on it to be sure it is cast?

      Yes it passes the magnet test. Only welded smooth on the top seam. and there does appear to be a bolt or to me appears to be a rod that was peened to hold the 2 pieces together before welding. appears to have original paint and patina. I look hard for manf marks but came up empty. It has a home in my display cabinet until the truth has been found.
